King of Pain

Yesterday, I went to Source Wellness Center (chiropractor, massage, acupuncture, and OT all in one spot!) and—under advisement from my wife—let the new deep massage guy Joe work on my calves and hamstrings, and while I endured the hamstring work fairly well, when he started doing stuff to my calves, he said, "You're going to hate me for this, and you're very messed up, but we can fix this," and then he started pressing spots on my calves, and the pain was so inordinate that I, in quick succession, prayed to all the gods of mercy in the universe, saw little black spots on the sun, cursed, cried, white-knuckle gripped the massage table, and understood the pain of childbirth . . . today, I am a bit sore, but my knee is much looser—all the muscles surrounding it were incredibly tight and restricting it, and so I am going back again next Thursday for more of the same.
