Dave Has Three Different Thoughts in Less Than a Second

I've been going to the gym often to ride the bike and use the elliptical machine because I just got a cortisone shot in my knee, and I'm trying to do low-impact exercise—yesterday, when I started pedaling, I looked over to my right and had three thoughts in quick succession:

1) there's a leak in the ceiling!

then I noticed the guy on the elliptical, striding above this puddle: he was a skinny youngish guy, wearing a ski hat and a long-sleeved shirt . . . and this was his SWEAT . . . and I felt kind of lame, as I was pedaling rather slowly, while I contemplated the Midi crossword—so my second thought was:

2) I really need to work out harder . . .

but then I came to my senses, and my brain issued a final judgment on this situation:

3) this guy needs to take it outside . . . this is disgusting.

this dude was white, under six feet, and skinny-- too skinny to generate that much sweat!
