they DEFINITELY don't know who garfunkel is . . . i didn't even bother to ask-- but "still crazy" is on this unreliable narrator example sheet and i played a bit and they had absolutely no clue about him. they still know who the beatles are, however.
When I was I sixth or seventh grade my stepfather was stunned that I’d never heard of Perry Como. As a result “Perry Como” became familial shorthand for generational ignorance. Like if I said “Who is Montgomery Clift” he would reply “Perry Como.”
