New Shit Has Come to Light

We were watching Goliath and someone used the phrase "crock of shit" and my older son Alex said, "what of shit?" and my wife and I said "crock" and Ian asked, "like a crock pot or like a Croc shoe?" and my wife and I said, "crock pot" but then we agreed that a Croc style clog full of shit was also an excellent thing to be full of shit, especially if you stuck your foot inside it.

A crock pot is rather large, whereas a crock is something smaller and more traditional, i.e., it was invented before electricity and Salsa Chicken Quinoa Casserole. And Crocs.

This sentence may be a crock of shit but Dave came in handy twice today. First, zmother-in-law came over for dinner and we all did the quordle and for one of the words I said "One of these isn't a real word" and she didn't see how that could be possible, as if the quordle is written by the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary or perhaps Daniel Webster himself, and she went on and on until I said "My friend who is an English teacher said this isn't a real word" and she said "Oh" and that ended it. Second, zwoman and I don't have a show to watch together (we finished Bridgerton, you can jam me next time you see me) and I suggested Goliath and she scrunched up her face so I said "Dave recommended it, he's the guy who told you about Megan Abbott" and her face unscrunched and she made that raised-eyebrows-frowning-face-with-bottom-lip-sticking-out that people make when you've changed their minds.
