America: Home of the Grill, Land of the Knave

Only in America will the pimple-faced grill guy from Lowe's-- whose camouflage boxers protrude conspicuously from his pants-- advise you that the $350 Ducane Affinity 4200 is "a great grill for the money" but that he prefers (and has somehow found the cash to purchase) the $1000 all stainless steel Weber model.

I too bought a grill this weekend, from the least helpful salesperson in Home Depot's roster, while simultaneously preventing my son from knocking over glass-topped tables in the patio furniture section.

i must admit that the grill dude at lowe's was helpful, despite his obvious disdain for the low end grill i was purchasing. when he saw my car then realized why i wasn't purchasing a more expensive grill.

that car is a drain on your self image. until you get a new car, you will never feel worthy to own anything of value. Btw, Ed and I always buy the cheap grills. Tonight there was fire coming out of the right dial that melted the knob. I think the Lowe's dude is right. Now I control the flame level with a plyer.
