For the past week, I've been confronting larger and larger bugs in the downstairs bathroom—first there was a mosquito, then a little cockroach, and then one of those spindly camel crickets, and yesterday there was a fairly large spider crawling down the tiled wall—and though I'm a bit of an arachnophobe, it was 5:15 AM, so I couldn't wake my wife to take care of the intruder, so I fought it with a long-handled broom (and won!) but I'm kind of nervous about what tomorrow will bring in this escalating creepy-crawly sequence.
