Tuesday at lunch, despite being hangry, I noticed that all my lunch Tupperware containers inside my little lunch cooler were covered in a weird clear gel (nice job noticing things, Dave!) and at first I was very disturbed by this, but then I found the culprit: one of my rectangular blue plastic reusable ice packs had cracked open, and it was leaking goop (the goop, I later learned, is made of a superabsorbent polymer called sodium polyacrylate) and so I wiped things down as best I could and ate my lunch, which was probably seasoned with microplastics . . . and then I did a bit more research because I was curious, and this goop is different than the goop inside Strecth Armstrong, that's high-viscosity boiled corn syrup and probably more edible than ice pack goop.
