It should be noted that this fearsome creature, our loyal companion Lola-- who spends most of her time guarding us-- would happily be a vegetarian: she loves broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, and pepper slices and will wait attentively while we are slicing and dicing produce for a salad until she receives a handout.

zwoman's dog eats fruit and vegetables too. The dog would probably eat drywall if I put it in her bowl.
my dog eats the shit of other dogs, deer, and assorted other wildlife. it's delightful.
I'm familiar with some of that. It appears that the deer scat in our backyard is sumptuous, at least to zwoman's dog.
apparently dogs can extract nutrition from shit. better them than us.
i prohibit my dog from eating shit and she's pretty good about it. just too gross.
