When there are clouds in the sky, even if weather.com reports a zero point zero percent chance of rain, it's better to tell your wife that it might rain, because otherwise, if it
does rain (which it did) you're going to get an angry phone-call . . . and the fact that the internet says it's not raining isn't going to make her feel better.
I agree. The internet sucks at weather. TR and I went to a Jets game a few weeks ago and our weather.com app said it would be sunny with a high of 60. While grilling in the parking lot in a 40 degree rain shower we checked the weather.com app again and it reported current weather in East Rutherford of 60 degrees and sunny.
ReplyDeleteCatching up on a few sentences...
ReplyDelete- I enjoy that you humbly admit that you stole my idea about the Dog Whisperer. Kudos.
- Nonprofits know that the greatest thing you can give donors (other than tax credits or at least a write-off) is recognition. It's an intrinsic part of the idea of donating. So acknowledging donors with the biggest banner possible is a great idea. Look at any annual report -- fear of not being listed among the names there is a great motivator to open your wallet for many folks. And it's okay to want that recognition, Dave.
- Weathermen are the medieval barbers of our era. 10-day forecasts are hurricane projections are like leeches and bloodletting. Their science is as inexact as any. Might as well throw a dart.
Hollerer. Not Whisperer. Dammit.
ReplyDeletei think there already was a dog whisperer. and thanks for acknowledging my human nature as natural.
ReplyDeleteon the weather front, been looking at the 10 day forecast in vermont, and it changes drastically every hour -- absurd.
