Stern Artistic Advice
I showed my friend John this charcoal drawing my seven-year-old son Ian made and he said to me: "He's a talented kid . . . whatever you do, don't give him any advice."
I was driving to work today and had the iPod on shuffle. A Greasetruck song came on that I didn't recognize at all. Not sure when it was recorded. It's called "Reverse Abortion." It's one of the more disturbing sets of lyrics I've ever heard. Good lord. Right now, John's advice is about the most sage recommendation I can imagine.

I think that recommendation wasn't limited to artistic advice.

that was a very special song. stacey drew pictures for it, but i don't think i ever scanned them in.
