Here is something fun and annoying to do to your friends: explain that you are about to tell a joke, but that the joke also doubles as test of their intelligence-- this will make them anxious to get the joke, but chances are that they won't-- and then say, "A termite walks into a bar and asks, 'Where's the bartender?'"

I bet talking termites are really smart, at least as far as termites go.
the joke also works with a talking beaver as the protagonist, who would also enjoy munching on the tender part of the bar.
way to give away the joke. some of us were enjoying the feeling of superiority.
you got it? nice! when i told it to my english classes, usually only foru or five kids out of thirty got it immediately (and quite a few teachers needed an explanation as well).
